It's a bit of a special year to start creating bikinis. But it's also the year that allows people to question their lifestyle choices, their consumption, and their place in this world. It's a year where we haven't really been able to travel wherever we want as easily as usual. The word "freedom" has taken on a new meaning since the pandemic.
As everywhere, this affected our work and schedules and I found myself alone at home dreaming about my past life in different parts of the world including Rio de Janeiro and Miami.
The United States and Anglo-Saxon countries are more tolerant of appearance, which does not necessarily reflect the individual's competence... In Brazil, the country of Carnival, the thong is de rigueur regardless of our body or age... Even the most "virile" men wear the "sunga", a very small boxer short, practical for playing footvolley on the beach without irritation on the thighs, unlike shorts and Bermuda shorts.
When I returned to France, I never really found French and sexy swimsuits that reflected this freedom.
In my opinion, French swimsuits are very sober, wide, covering, too "classy", too dark... A way of saying "hide your body, erase who you are to remain elegant" is an absurd idea for me.
So, I took advantage of the confinement to launch La Piri to rediscover the feeling of freedom of walking almost naked on the beach with friends enjoying life under the sun.
